Ven. Panadure Chandaratana Thero conducted a 5 days long residential retreat in early June 2019 at Mitirigala Nissaranavanaya Monastery. The retreat was based on Samana Brahmana Sutta.
There are many Suttas of this same name in Sutta Pitaka. This selected Sutta is from Khuddhaka Nikaya, Itivuttaka Pali, Chathushka Nipata. This is short and yet an important Sutta of Lord Buddha. In this Sutta the Lord Buddha clearly describe as to who is a monk or a Brahmin by stating that a monk or a Brahmin should know and understand the four Noble Truths.
There’s a current vacuum of good explanations of Suttas from Khuddhaka Nikaya in English. In fact it’s difficult to find a good translation of Samana Brahmana Sutta in English.
These Dhamma sermons and the Q&A sessions are invaluable as they explain the Four Noble Truths from a very practical perspective while aligning the explanations towards the development of the Path of Nibbana through Vipassana. The discussions and the discourses are specially valuable to those advancing Yogis and aspiring teachers of Vipassana.
As such it is highly recommended to translate this whole series to English language and present it to ”English only” Yogis/Yoginis in easily distributed forms such as MOBI, EPUB and PDF e-book formats.
