Ven. Panadure Chandaratana Thero commenced a 10 days long retreat at Mitirigala Nissaranavanaya Monastery based on Kalakarama Sutta in June 2019. It’s an important Sutta of Lord Buddha found in Anguttara Nikaya, Chatukka Nipata, Uruvela Vagga.

This Sutta is also known as Kalaka Sutta.

The Lord Buddha preached Kalakarama Sutta at Kalakarama in the city of Saketa. The Blessed One said in the Sutta that the Buddha knows and comprehends whatsoever is seen, heard, comprised, attained, searched into etc., in the whole world but that he is not subject to it. It is said that at the end of the Sutta, the earth trembled as though bearing witness to the Lord Buddha’s statement.

The Dhamma Sermons of this retreat are excellently delivered to explain the true message of Dhamma preached by the Lord Buddha. These are delivered in a simple and humble manner combining the practical experience of a great teacher of Samatha and Vipassana meditation. The teacher’s depth of understanding of both Samatha and Vipassana is clearly demonstrated in the Q&A sessions.
