Suriya Sutta at Lanka Vipassana Center

Suriya Sutta as a series was started by Most Ven. U. Dhammajiva Maha Thero at Vipassana Center, Col 07. The Maha Thero has started to conduct a two day meditation retreat at the Vipassana Center from March 2015. This two day retreat also provides residential facilities for about 50 yogis. A special prominence is given to the Youth when selecting the yogis for the two day residential retreat.

Suriya Sutta is a Sutta from Bojjanga Sanyukthaya and it explains as to how certain signs starts to appear on the Yogi path before the ‘sun rise’ or the Sothapanna stage. This is a very useful sutta for those starting on the Path and the Maha Thero emphasize the importance of Sathi or Mindfulness.
