Kumbha Sutta is the new series of Dhamma discourses presented by Most Ven. U. Dhammajiva Maha Thero to the monks of Mitirigala Nissaranavanaya Forest Monastery. The series is conducted each week in the upper monastery to the resident monks and male lay yogis.
The Buddha uses a parable of four clay pots in Kumbha Sutta to drive across four important areas of the practice to the monks.
Kumbha sutta develops based on four types of containers; the empty and with lid (those who happily follow the Buddha but do not understand the Buddha’s teachings); full and without a lid (those who do not follow the Buddha happily but do understand the Buddha’s teachings); empty and without lid (those who do not follow the Buddha happily and do not understand the Buddha’s teachings); and, full and with lid (those who happily follow the Buddha and understand the Buddha’s teaching).
